[back to photo] Up All Night @ The Crown & Two Chairmen opening night was the first of new team member PLUSH's public outings. The place was totally packed by 8.30. Anyone who missed it, really did miss out. As you can see from the photo's there were one or two celebs, but not entertaining the world of cheep chart pop, we have no idea who they were! We had people queuing up outside the door, there wasn't a seat left anywhere, standing room was limited only to people built like lamp posts (or Chris Kahl!) and the music.... well that was just wonderful. Superb sounds from a great set of acts. The witty Englishness of tee-totaller DANIEL PRINT (even though he was spotted with a bottle of Gin at the Troy club later that night!), lovely chilled out tunes from BERNASCONI, THE COMPETITION were just flying high all night, playing like demons, LORD LAYABOUT with his fabulous YEAH YEAH YEAH!! song were terrific and a very later BREAKFAST at 10.15 but who cares? Warren and the boys played their hearts out, brought the place to a standstill and ended the evening on a bloody fantastic note. So, once again, to all the bands - THANK YOU, to the crowd, sorry for asking you to be quiet, but hey, it's all part of my job and to Lor & Ron the owners of the pub, you were great and there'll be many more nights like that to come, I'm sure. So all that's left to say is this Wednesday 23rd it all kicks off again, doors open at 7.45 and the first act's on at 8.15. If you want to get down there, please do, it's gonna be superb - as ever. PS anyone out there who wants to do some acoustic gigs, send ya CD to me at UP ALL NIGHT (address on this site) and we'll see what we can do. |
